Dorman Sawall is little known within the Courts of Chaos. Some assume him ( or her?) to be a relative of Mandor while others consider him to be nothing more than an aberration. Ghosting in and out of the Ways of Sawall every few years to drop off volumes of meticulous notes detailing the anatomy and social functioning of a myriad of shadow dwelling species. Dorman Sawall has spent his entire existence living with and observing life in all it's complexity throughout shadow.
Leaving the Courts of Chaos at a young age, he has spent thousands of years in deep shadow, masking his mind from others to better observe and record species interaction. At times, he even adopts the form of those under his scrutiny to better understand their place within the multiverse. Such dedication and submersion into alternate life-forms would eventually lead to catastrophic consequences. Dorman has been at differing times an expert surgeon and doctor aboard several Federation starships in a far off technologically advanced shadow, lead biologist for a race of collector beings categorizing their known universe, an advanced mechanics engineer for a race of robotic nano-bytes in a micro-universe shadow, and flown through galaxies with a pod of space-whales returning to their ancient breeding ground near the center of reality.
Dorman Sawall's greatest triumph and setback are conjoined within a race known as the Istarii, in a far flung shadow of fantasy, magical rings and swords of destiny. Adopting their form to better understand the Istarii, Dorman lived for hundreds of years within their society, eventually losing his sense of self and becoming one of them, while no longer recognizing his true self. It took decades for Dorman to learn he was different and heal back to his original sense of self. He forgot, however, what it was he had truly been or looked like, and so adopted a form of a young boy with bright green eyes. This was done out of self preservation and not vanity, hoping others would see him as weak and in need of help or protection.
Now Dorman Sawall periodically pops in and out of his quarters within the Ways of Sawall, depositing his notes, sketches, and biological dissertations of those shadow species he has recently been associated with. He is barely cognizant of the fact that Merlin has ascended to both thrones of reality, and tries to avoid others or get involved with the machinations of both royal families. There are events brewing that do get the attention of Dorman, and one should wonder if he is now observing us, silent and unseen, or perhaps hidden as an ally or congenial neighbor.
